So you predict another country station without a strong morning show could make a dent?
Who says it wouldn't have a strong morning show? Fitz is still under contract to Hubbard. Last I checked, he's not on the air in Seattle.

I'm only thinking about 98.9 going back to Country, as of right now they are the only one I can see that would make sense flipping, due to their current situation. And was the Bull really doing that badly? If I recall, they were showing improvement in their last monthly PPM as Country. It will at the very least be more successful than AAA. To stay on the current path, now that would be not learning from past history.Wrong. History has shown; every time a second or third country station comes to town, they suck wind. Country listeners are brand loyal, especially the station with the best morning show.
It takes time and a lot of money to establish a popular morning show. Just playing country music is not enough chips to be a serious player in the game.Who says it wouldn't have a strong morning show? Fitz is still under contract to Hubbard. Last I checked, he's not on the air in Seattle.
Which all started with throwing the saxophones and Latin guitars in the dumpster. Aka, KWJZ. Since then, I think only The Bull has had decent PPM success...Nothing. This dog don't hunt. Add it to the list of Click, The Rock, The Bull, - bodies just keep piling up over there in Bellevue / Factoria. Maybe they should call it Mourge FM and play all the dead formats that came prior on the frequency. Bet it does better than a pultry .8 - which is over the legal limit anyway. You have to be drunk to listen to it. LMAO
So they go back to their advertisers and agencies to tell them they've made a mistake and are changing directions? Nobody here see's what their target demo numbers look like, so you're making an assumption based on missing data. Plus, no business wants to eat a sh*t sandwich in front of their clients. You seem to think that changing formats is something that can be done overnight. It's expensive and takes a lot of work. Can't just flip a switch.I'm only thinking about 98.9 going back to Country, as of right now they are the only one I can see that would make sense flipping, due to their current situation.
So on one has successfully resurrected a previous format? Live 105 KITS comes to mind...So they go back to their advertisers and agencies to tell them they've made a mistake and are changing directions? I do, and you're assuming they could get him back on the air in Seattle? If it was so easy, why didn't they do it already?Do you know who Fitz is? Obviously not.
So early in the game? Without adequate research? Based on 6+ numbers? So on one has successfully resurrected a previous format? Live 105 KITS comes to mind...

Exactly. Hubbard would end up dropping probably $2.5-4M to change directions so early in the game.As I said, he's still under contract. The bad news is so are a lot of the KPNW people.
Maybe this attempt is like Jack: Fills in a demo gap for not a lot of expense.
My uneducated guess is that both Hubbard and Lotus might be looking in that direction.
"Difficult to work with" - pretty much ALL Morning Jocks. On the topic of Fitz… there’s no doubt that he’s extremely talented and has a proven ability to put on one of the best morning shows in a market. With that being said, he’s known for being a difficult person to work with. It wouldn’t shock me that a company wouldn’t want to build an entire station around him.
YEP - Lotus would do it IF they had to ... and they might .... but the lack of resources and people with experince is an issue. Sure bring outside talent and Programmers maybe the only way to go for them should they deem it the option moving forward. The thing is that Lotus has no experience in the format, no contacts in the industry, and Hubbard does.
SO from the looks and sound of it Hubbard has NO freaking clue as to what they are doing... $h!t $how anyone? Heads need to roll, upper MGT couldn't program DVR wathcing a YouTube video it seems. They've already killed that idea by hiring so many veteran people. That didn't come cheap.
This is a 50+ format that is likely a struggle to sell.
That's the first time I've heard one of my kids referred to as "elderly"!SO from the looks and sound of it Hubbard has NO freaking clue as to what they are doing... $h!t $how anyone? Heads need to roll, upper MGT couldn't program DVR wathcing a YouTube video it seems.
Talk about incompetance. "we are dumping country to chase after KEXP and become some uber lib lifestyle hipster wanna be station for elderly 50+ folk.... NO wait... we decided to go back to country..."
Ya think sales are bad, just ask an AE over there... YIKES - they are just bonusing spots and combo buys for the group at best. Format won't last past Q2 2024 - Hubbard needs to make $ and at .8 it aint doing squat and hemoraging cash.
