Seattle TV/Radio Towers,

I was in Seattle last weekend. I notice that TV reception and radio reception is horrible in Seattle. For Tv, there are a lot of ghosting effect, even in the city where the TV towers are. Which area of the Puget sound would be the best place to put a TV or radio attenna? Tiger Mountain? Cougar? Queen Anne? Capitol Hill? Gold Mountain? or Port of Defiance?

The best place to put them is most likely right where they are or else they would be somewhere else if they could be moved.

Quality of reception depends on a lot of different factors, not the least of which is the type/location of the antenna you are using for reception. You might find that what you refer to as "ghosting" might possibly be that your antenna is a higher gain antenna and is causing TOO STRONG of a signal to be delivered into your tv tuner, which I undersand can cause picture degradation. Likewise, if you are using "rabbit ears" indoors depending on the area, you're not likely to get a perfect picture...

(Btw...probably don't want to say "Point of Defiance" to a local) ;)
Edited by eastsidah on 10/15/05 06:01 AM.

There is no perfect place to put a FM antenna other than perhaps the 14,000ft level of Mt. Rainier.

Some stations migrated to places like W. Tiger because of a King County moratorium for new stations on Cougar. KBSG started the trend as a Tacoma station realizing there wasn't money to be made as ONLY a Tacoma station. KMTT, KRPM (at the time), and other Tacoma stations were the same way. Most Tiger stations also currently have back-up sites on Cougar.
