Sebastian brags about "The Wolf"

New article at all about country.com with John Sebastian breaking down the numbers to show how much the station has improved since his tenure. Didn't he do the same thing when he took over WSM-Fm in Nashville?
Anyway, check out the story(you must be a member, but it's free to join) and discuss.

He has the right to brag. Very impressive trend. He truly is the "Turnaround King". Is anyone surprised that they are even going up in younger demos?

Does the term "Sebastian Pattern" mean anything? Isn't this a textbook example?

Now, for the 25-54 persons results for the very latest month of August:

--6 AM-Midnight Mon-Sun The Wolf is the story of this ratings cycle in D/FW improving 3.4-4.2—good for #3 overall market--#2 non-ethnic!

And beating KSCS in the money demo by 1.4.
I don't remember exactly what each tenth of a point translates to in dollars, but it's a lot. A whole whole lot.

And even if this is part of his pattern, if the Wolf can open up a 1-2 point lead on KSCS, that's gotta hurt Citadel right?

So he leaves, that still leaves the Wolf seriously outbilling KSCS...

The question is, for how long?

Long enough to cost some people their jobs probably. And cost Citadel some serious cash.

Look at the trends thread. KPLX is 5th or 6th, KSCS isn't even in the top 12.

I used to have the figure handy of what each tenth if a ratings point meant in yearly billing, but can't find it...(It's part and parcel w/power ratios- if youhave 10% of the audience, you should get 10% of the billing. If the market bills 1 million dollars a year, you should get 100K, your 10%. In that case each 1% is 10K. Each tenth of a point is 1k. Now multiple that by the hundreds of millions that is spent in the Dallas market)

So even if Sebastin bails out after a year or 2, if he puts KPLX in position to outbill KSCS by probable millions a year, do you think the "suits" at Cumulus will care?
