Sebastian fired

I usually dismiss these types of posts, especially from someone who only has one post, but they have been removed from the WCCC website.

then again, i wouldn't put it past WCCC to do a wacky let's-'fire'-our-morning-guy type of stunt.

i guess we'll see how this play out, huh?

I see he is off the website all together. what now Music in the morning...?
PLease Please Be music as much as I miss sebastion, IMHO Rock out CCC!

His facebook page confirmed this earlier this evening.

According to his Facebook page, Sebastian said Marlin is having trouble meeting payroll, and the highest salary had to go.

Now, is there anywhere on the Connecticut dial he could conceivably end up?

Considering how poorly Star 99.9 has done ever since they fired John Harper I wouldn't put it past them, but of course that would mean having to pay real money! Highly doubt that will happen.

Sebastian on an offend-nobody, listen-at-work station? Sebastian???

Regardless of anyone's opinions on Sebastian, this is just another move toward nobody being able to even make a living in radio anymore.

Or in any information or entertainment medium that depends on advertising, it seems. It seems counterproductive to be that a business would respond to tough times by eliminating advertising, but a frightening number of them have. Print, radio and TV have taken the biggest hits, but even the Internet advertising numbers aren't the gold mine everyone thought they'd be 10 years ago, they're just basically bumping along.

So, when does it end? And if it ends, does radio start filling airshifts again?

I'm hearing it was that CCC's company couldn't afford to up the pay under the new negotiations and I'm also hearing that Radio 104.1 might be getting a new morning show. Is any of it true? I don't really know.

I'm no Facebook pro, but the response that Sebastian's Facebook wall has received alone is an indication that he is a premiere talent with no sign of tiring. With his keen business sense and networking abilities, I'm confident that there is a GM in this region that has the "pull" to get him on, improve their ratings and show Triple C that they made a HUGE mistake.

I never said anything about it being practical. The way Star has been a tired second to WEBE for who knows how long it would be possible that might try anything. Then again, it takes some onions to try something and I don't think the programmers there have any.

Another move toward not being able to make a living in radio? It's been like that for awhile now, considering the scuttlebutt I heard from the Cumulus camp.

Never happen! Not when you have highly recognizable talent like Norm there.

Wow Bill, you seem to have a real issue with Star. It's quite a stretch to make a thread about Sebastion relate to Star... but somehow you managed to do it. Why the hate?

They haven't done well since John Harper left and are always second to WEBE? Maybe you should take a peek at the Spring 2009 Arb. book Bill. I think you'll be surprised!
