Sebastian on WCCC

Tonight's (9/27) Airtime Column by Matt Buckler in the Journal-Inquirer states that Sebastian has been hired by WCCC to succeed Howard Stern. It states that "According to sources, Sebastian will be introduced to the station's advertisers today, although the announcement may be weeks away." Sebastian worked at WCCC from 1988 to 1995 and hosted a one-hour Patriots pre-game show on WCCC for three years.

So, assuming Buckler is correct, there ya go. The winner is Sebastian.

He did not host that Patriots pregame show for three years. I don't think it even lasted two full seasons.

I've heard sooo much about him...I'm anxious to finally hear him.<P ID="signature">______________

I used to work before Sebastian from 88-94.

Love him or hate him, in my opinion, he's a great guy - gifted & talented.

Best of luck.

I wasn't around in the early 90's for ccc. you think he will be more talk or do you suppose more music in the morning? secondly? whatever happined to the idea of dee Snyder. did that idea die?

When Sebastian was on WCCC he played music on his show. However when he moved over to WZMX he didn't play any music. He was let go from WZMX (tho still under contract) after they flipped to disco in 1998 or 1999. Nancy Barrow (who still does mornings on WZMX which of course is now hip-hop) was his sidekick.

Dee wanted to take time to be with his family and record more voiceovers for VH1 aka reportedly politely canned from WMMR in Philly. If you read the Philly board they werent really feeling Dee. And YES if Sebestian has been announced I would imagine no D... not really hard to compute.

My dad used to listen to Sebastian every morning. I remember one year he made up a news story on April Fool's Day that Avon Mountain was erupting. It was funny, and caused quite a stir throughout the state.

Does Sebastian still live in Farmington? I remember people used to see him jogging at the Farmington High School track.

Go up 4 posts to NortheastAirchecks. There is a great clip of Sebastian from 1992. This is how I remember his show, with Diane Novak and some intern cackling in the background. He'd play maybe two or three songs an hour unless he had an interview or a guest. He would also go past 10:00 occasionally.

He was very good at what he does. I hope 'triple-trash' (his affectionate name for WCCC when he was at 93.7 and 640am) will consider streaming as WPYX kills any chance of DX-ing WCCC here in Albany.

He had a great sign-off: "Live With Passion... and if you were listening in the car, thanks for the ride!"

WCCC does stream. Go to WCCC.COM And on the left hand side below their logo is a button that says "LIsten on the Internet".

Twilight room

I remember seeing him do at the Twilight room ..old strip joint turned club....he would sing over every song....LOUD!
