SEC Football on Raycom Sports

After sixteen seasons, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) has played its last football game on Raycom Sports (previously Lincoln Financial Sports; originally Jefferson-Pilot Sports).

I am looking forward to next season, when games will be syndicated on ESPN Plus.

Ole Miss won the very last SEC Football on Raycom Sports game in the Egg Bowl 45-0. At the end of the game, they showed the best plays from SEC games televised on Raycom/Jefferson Pilot.

Will the SEC on Raycom announcers/crews be assigned to the ESPN Plus games in the future? Or will ESPN provide them?

One can only hope that there will be a new (and hopefully better) crew than the three Dave's (Neal, Archer and Baker). They would be hard pressed to find three worse announcers.

Right around the time the Big 12 was formed, Raycom lost the rights to Big 8/big 12 games to ESPN Plus. As I recall, over the air affiliations didn't change much, if at all. Same channel next season, just different logos, etc.

Here's hoping that C-USA and the Sun Belt Conference both come together and work out an arrangement to get their games syndicated by Raycom Sports. Their fans will gladly take the Daves, as they certainly won't be getting much Saturday football coverage thanks to the ESPNs.

Oh boy. I can hardly wait to see UAB versus anyone. (Sarcasm dripping).

CBS College Sports has been airing C-USA football all season long. Given the fact its a non BCS (Beauty Contest Schools) Conference, they ll probably shoot for an upgrade. Maybe taking an extra SEC game that ESPN doesn't want.

Ha ha, funnyman. So what bowl game will the vaunted Troy Trojans cause to go out of business this time around? :D
