Secret links to stream UK radio in the US

I found a secret link for Jack FM in Oxford, now where can I find links to other UK radio stations? I'm tired of the messages: "This stream is not avialable outside the UK." I'm sick of American radio, they all blow. I prefer to listen to some better radio...though you all may disagree. I am loving Jack FM, it's alot better than US Jack.

;D Mhhehhhehehheehhhhhehhh....... ;D

Of course, you could also configure your Winamp and/or Firefox just as easily to use a public proxy server based in the UK.......

i live in canada and can't pick up 102.2 smooth fm from London....i try the station through media player and through their website..i get same message as the jack fm in oxford stream...how can I get around this?

It is the same thing with stations owned by Clear Channel in the US...they cannot be picked up outside the US on most sites....however for those who are interested.

go to www.thestreamcentre.com

they do not block anything in the US.

I do like listening to radio from London....much different from Canadian or US stations which almost alike now.

Hi all,

I'm from the UK and I have the opposite problem to most of you from over the waters. I'm trying to listen online to U.S and Canadian radio stations, but as some of you find trying to listen to British radio, a lot of radio streaming isn't licensed for over seas. I tried for hours and hours one day to find a U.S radio station I could listen to online. They are around, but not as many as there used to be a few years ago. I assume the licensing laws for streaming online have tightened up or something. Frustrating indeed!

Becky.

Becky, what type of formats do you enjoy listening to? Which US stations are you hoping to hear?
As one of the above posters mentioned, you may be able to hear the streams of most US stations via this website:

BTW, most US stations not owned by Clear Channel are pretty easy to stream abroad.

hhhm i have a few links that may be of help. Let me know what you want to listen to and i'll dig out the URLs. Perseonally I downloaded a program called www.screamer-radio.com Screamer Radio. It is a purely internet streaming program with a record facility as well. Quite a few US stations on there and the ability to add more via a favourites option

how can i listen to smooth 102.2 and Bright FM from Canada? they seem to be blocked.

Can FM/MW stations from London be picked up in Brighton? I am planning on going to Brighton for a day trip when I go back to London next year.

Certain London FM stations can be received weakly in portions of Brighton; however, if you're right along the coast then probably most will not. The terrain is hilly there and faces southward, so the closer to the coast you go, the less likely it is. Many of the MW signals are pretty beefy and should come in fine.

can you get stations from France as it across the english channel? Does a radio work well on the train?

The link for smooth 102.2 was working fine a few days ago and now when I listen to it, there is a dead silence..i can get into the stream, but can't hear anything.

You can get signals from other countries, depending where you are on the coast.

Yes, you can pick up radio stations on the train, however the reception may be spotty.. Note there are 'quiet coaches' where it is considered rude to use radios. walkmans, ipods, cell phones, out loud. I would seriously suggest you take some headphones to keep the broadcasts to yourself!

Is there an iPhone/iPod Touch app that anyone knows of that would get UK radio stations in the US? That would be nice to have.
