Here is the word on FREE FM from the Hallways - I would say there is a very "FRESH" sound coming to Phoenix very soon.

Agreed. Unless you have inside information don't post it here as if you do. Speculation is fine, making things up is not.

I would find it INCREDIBLY unlikely that Free-FM would become "Fresh", another AC station in this market would be like adding another classic rock station... we have more than enough of that.

It does not really matter what they are…The Edge still won’t beat them! I would much rather be at Free FM or another station... Then be at the station that still can't pull over a 1.2 with no competition and has become the laughing stock of Phoenix Radio.

mix is hot a.c. however they play more of a rock mix and the peak is variety rock. i think i've heard more classic hit's on the peak lately. so with that said, why not soft ac with that big stick. go all christmas nov. 1st and run lot's of t.v. and print some money.

Those are AC related formats. KEZ does the holiday music garbage already, why have another station doing the same thing. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's a good thing most of you aren't involved in making programming decisions.

Another AC station is absolutely not needed and will not happen.

You're hearing more rock these days because it's what is testing well. Pop is cooling off, and rock is gaining some steam. Check out other Hot AC, CHR and Alternative stations and you'll note that many of them are starting to lean more rock than before.

so tell, what is the best path? most major markets have 2 full blown ac's.. not ac leaning. us sales guys know better, rock is great but not when you have several in the mix already. you programmers all wanna be hip and rock, find the cheese.
