For the past several years Secret Santas in Cooke County have donated thousands of dollars to be given away to those in need in the county. This year, at the latest count, is $65,000 to be awarded on Friday morning. Right now a panel (identity kept secret) is vetting well over 100 letters that had to arrive by December 8. On Friday December 15 at 9am Central, KGAF begins reading the chosen letters and talking to the people that sent the letter. After all $65,000 has been awarded (if not more by Friday), the recipients come to the station to receive cash. Law enforcement will check IDs to assure the money goes to the right person.
