At first we thought we were listening to the wrong station.

Then we thought it was another KT'R Wheel of Hosts subbing for Mac & Cheese.

But the more Nurse Jeff and I listened Wednesday afternoon, the more convinced we became that Mac Watson may have found his huevos and was doing the kind of show that can beat KFWhyEye. Watson took on Hillary after her big Si Se Puede speech at Cesar Chavez H.S. and was firing on all cylinders. He was working the sound bites...he laid the foundation for his argument perfectly...and during the time we listened, Watson was doing the kind of show KT'R needs to do on a more regular basis.

Perhaps the Master Blogger was out of town and the format was thrown out the window. Perhaps Mac Watson finally had enough of doing his usual lame talk radio show. Perhaps history will repeat itself in the battle of Phoenix talkers. Afterall it was eight years ago this fall KFWhyEye played whoopass on Toaster Talkin' KT'R during the hotly contested 2000 Presidential election and came away the ratings winner.

The Nurse and I can only wonder how much further along KT'R would be today if they hadn't wasted their first year on FM with the same kind of lame programming which killed 6~twenty.

I'll give the cheeseman a listen today. I'm all for passion, except when it is obviously phony and contrived (aunt carlos).

And, why can't any of the whiteys on radio learn how to pronounce a few words in Spanish?

His passion was unmistakable as he fired away at Monica Lewinsky's ex-boyfriend's wife. I was actually enjoying myself.

Of course, when he started talking about Bush's package--ok, the stimulus package, but it was a conversation he might have had if he were still in high school--I turned back to the Nearly Windbagged One and listened to talk about Jane-O and sex-ed (not much of an improvement over the talk of Bush's package).
