After a year of reading all the writing on the walls of the Airport Marriott... Westwood One has finally shut down their Metro Networks Tampa office. Which I'm told is (was) really the functional Tampa/Sarasota office. With the exception of a couple of people placed on site at the remaining big clients, everyone was shown the above-mentioned, now-closed door.
It will be interesting hear how well a Miami person can do Tampa traffic. That same person will likely also have to do traffic for Orlando, Melbourne, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, etc.
Hopefully, the newly-unemployed were taken care of with decent severance packages. But knowing Westwood One, probably not.
