Seeking help interpreting cryptic FCC notice

Long-time lurker, first-time asker (and industry newbie) here:

I was hoping for employment by a certain cluster... The FCC notice bulletin included an entry like this about them last week:

Dec 1, 2008
Place I Want to Work Cluster
Voluntary Transfer of Control
From: ACME PRINCIPAL OPPORTUNITIES FUND IV PDQ (DELAWARE) GP, L.P.
To: AJAX FUND AIF , L.P. - SERIES B
Form 316

Is that a signal of mere refinancing, significant financial issues or what?

Thanks for any insight.

What do ya know about Ajax and Acme?

Isn't Acme the supplier of materials to Wile E. Fox on the Road Runner?

Now for a serious answer. :)

You can look up the exact particulars of this transfer by going to FCC.gov (then) Search (then) "Media Bureau Consolidated Database Search Page" (then) "Search for Application Information" Now scroll down to the "group Search" area at the bottom of the page and enter the station's call letters.

Usually this type of application merely indicates a minor change in the form of the licensee's corporate structure. From a "C" corporation to an L.L.C. (limited Liability company, which resembles an incorporated partnership), or the difference between an AG, or Aktiengesellschaft; and a GMBH or Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung, under German corporation law). Because this often results in a slight rearrangement of controlling interests the FCC filing is required.

Normally has little effect on the day-to-day operations of the business.
