Seibel out at Fan?

Beyond that you're down to the WEDO's and 1550's of the world.

Odds are neither CBS or NBC shows up here.

The irony here is that for many years WEDO was the CBS Radio affiliate for the Pittsburgh market,
airing "Arthur Godfrey Time" right up to its final day on the network in 1972. Of course, that was
over 40 years ago.

What more can you tell us about this three way competition (Dunlap, Filliponni, Mueller) to replace Seibel?

today Andrew Filliponni was on with Starkey and Miller and I thought Andrew did a great job. I think Filliponni should get the afternoon drive slot

I disagree totally. It was so bad, I was almost wishing for Seibel to come back. Filliponi is over his head and out of his league in afternoon drive.

I'd like to know why Twinings of London decided to buy all those spots for herbal tea on this station.
Is The Fan really the right demographic for this? Can you see your fellow Yinzers plunking down in
a seat at Primanti's and ordering this stuff? ???

Rule #1 in radio: if you can make money with it, it doesn't matter what the demographics are. Believe me management, especially in Foster Plaza will do anything for a dollar.

Could be a bulk purchase... All of CBS-Pittsburgh, or maybe just All of CBS. Hit as many demos that you can with one set of paperwork.

I agree. I think Filliponi comes across as a snot-nosed kid who thinks he knows everything, so you may as well not even attempt to disagree with him. Kind of like he took this job to further his career, but he can't wait to go somewhere else. About the only host worse is Colin.

I still hold out hope for Ellis, ... or Stan, ... or Guy.

After listening again you are right. Andrew came across very
snobby. I believe Colin is in afternoon drive next week
and then mueller the week after.

and the lame Boomer Esiason commentaries from the CBS Sports Network
sure aren't helping either.

It can't be any worse than when FOX Sports Radio started and their primary sponsor was a website called "Housecats.com," which sold pet supplies for, yes, house cats.

The website no longer exists, and the spots were so out of place the hosts made fun of them.

Then again; Twinings of London, supplies for cats; if they are trying to get me to buy gifts for Mother's Day they are on the right track.

Gifts for Valentine's Day might be more timely.

It could still sound odd.

"Odd" is not uncommon for radio . . . .

I was looking at the cbsradio website and it shows as of 01/07/13 the fan is looking for a full time and part time sports talk show host. Any updates on if any other current hosts have renewed their contracts?
