Seinfeld... You Can Go Home Again!

I guess this means WNYW's getting The Big Bang Theory.

Interestingly - very interestingly - this morning, at a subway station, I saw for the first time, advertising for "Seinfeld" on Fox 5. Very interesting considering this recent development that they will no longer be airing this show in about a year from now.

And I noticed there's a big Seinfeld illuminated sign inside a bus shelter on Columbus Ave. and 59th Street.

But I also wondered about the air times... 11:30pm and 12:30am? I thought the show was more popular than that, especially among New Yorkers. OK, maybe Channel 5 is trying to counter-program against Leno and Letterman at 11:30. Let's remember that this is why the Conan/Fox deal fell through. Local Fox stations around the country buy expensive sitcoms to run at 11 and 11:30, but get to keep the revenue from all the commercials. If Fox started airing Conan from 11-Midnight, local Fox stations would lose that revenue.

But another airing at 12:30am? How many viewers are awake at that hour? And no airing in early evening?

I don't understand why they don't go full-out and just air "Seinfeld" back-to-back. Move "The Simpsons" (or whatever airs at midnight) to after "Seinfeld."
