It seems, as a part15 broadcaster people are often coming up to me and saying, "I love the station - I wish it came in better." - Well we love you to listen so how to improve reception? I started snooping around on ebay to see what might be out there and came across two antennas with promise, the Select-A-Tenna which C Crane sells for about $100 and the "Slinky antennna" - yes it's made from a slinky.
I found the Select-A-Tenna on ebay "buy it now" for $47.50 and bought one, first testing it here with excellent results, then loaning to a fan who is in our fringe zone. He reports back with "great reception' - he then took it to his studio deep inside a multi story brick and steel former high school building and using a GE superadio pulled us in loud and clear.
So, now we are going to encourage folks to buy these, haven't got the slinky out for a test yet, it's only $12.50 and theoretically ought to work well. We tried selling superadios to folks and sold five over a years time, a little disappointing, but hey, selling these antennas might work.
