I'm helping a local station put together a music format for an internet-only venture they are working on. It'll be more or less an 80's/90's "variety hits" format. Although we have most of the music selected already, I'm wondering if chart data would be helpful in categorizing the songs. I'm thinking along the lines of having "top 10" songs in higher rotation than others. Would you suggest peak chart position or year-end chart position? We will of course also take into consider a song's "burn factor", etc. Any pointers will be much appreciated. Thanks!
