Saw a facebook post from Steven O Sellers, indicating he is no longer with KONO.
RadioDiscussions.com anti-profanily rules prevent me from saying what I really think.
Steven O. is a radio legend, at KONO in the early '70s, KISS in the '80s, plus KTSA and that funky positive radio station in the '90s, then TXN and finally a long run at KONO this century. I wish him well.
 
He should try KAHL - maybe it's time they add live talent. Or KKYX, KZEP, or Jack.

Oh yeah that short lived KPOZ 1310 AM 1996-1997 positive radio station. I remember placing a bet with a friend I said it would only last 1 year, he said 2. I won the bet, and got a free soda. (I was in High School back then) If it were money we would be in detention! I was already steamed when KZDC was no longer Hard rock.

Back then, I would DX Kiss 98.5/103.3 from Houston, and 104 KRBE.
Maybe he retired. Wasn't he with Magic at one time when they were Oldies?
I miss Magic's Oldies format, the would play the most 70's music and the longer versions of the songs.
My mom listened to KONO while my dad listened to KSMG when they were both Oldies stations. I still recall him also being with KSMG for a short spell.

'Tis the season to get salaries off the books. Take the severance hit in the current year and start off the new year leaner.

FYI, KKYX is owned by COX the same company that owns KONO.
KZEP is owned by Clear Channel
Jack might be up for sale in less than 5 years as BMP is in Chapter 11. Unless they emerged from Chapter 11 which is doubtful.
 
It was a real privilege to work in the same building with Steven O, Tom Carr and many others that were let go. Sure didn't like to hear about this. Some really good hearted pros with solid work ethics. I wish them all the best.
