Send Cartoon Network down the tiolet too.

I just realized Cartoon Network is now airing movies. Not cartoon movies but regular run of the mill movies you find any where else on cable.I jumped ahead on my Guide to see Cheaper by the dozen starring Steve Martain is this Sunday nights movie.
Have these cable networks gone bonkers.TV Land sold out about a year ago with movies and every station syndication crap as in Scrubs and other run of the mill syndication.
What the hell is going on?What happened to the nitch programming each network was airing to give itself its own personality?

So let me get this strait. The Cable or Satelite company wants me to pay 70 bucks a month for 200+ cable channels that all air the same thing but at different times.

Canada's version (Teletoon) also has movies on Friday nights. What they call the "Go0d F-in Movie". These are regular movies to0! Carto0n channels should be showing cart0ons! That's why I watch them...not for some movie I'm not interested in.

You mean to tell me a network that is geared toward children is using a derivative of the "F" word?

I guess it's no worse than our CN running "Adult Swim"...

Now you've got it! And..in another world, it won't be long before that very same scenario is playing itself out over at XM & Sirius. But I digress...While I can understand that there should be a place for new cartoon product, although I cannot be convinced that any of this new stuff can even come close to the old film studio greats..there should also be a place just for those old MGM, RKO & WB cartoons. Cartoon Net allegedly birthed Boomerang just for that reason, but they have fiddled and messed with that as well. Movies do not belong on these channels. But there seems to be no real way to win. Argue all you want, but the boomers are the largest segment of today's population, and the ones with the most cash. So constantly trying to dumb-down and young-down every single channel is going to be a huge mistake. I agree with you, that the idea of shelling out $70+ each month to satellite or cable companies who are doing nothing but repackaging the same shows over and over and over again in slightly different wrapping paper is ridiculous. This has got to be great for the DVD, book and software sellers.

I cancelled my cable when it got to $70/month. The thing is the cable company is so subtle about it. First you get basic, OTA channels, then they say for $5.00/month you can get basic. Then it's like for $10/month you get TVLand, then they tier the service with one good channel on each tier, the next thing you know a year later you have a $70/bill to watch five channels.

Not that they were being dishonest, but it's just so subtle you don't notice it.
