Sensible Don on WLW ????

I don't regularly listen to WLW, but would often tune in on Saturday mornings to listen to "Sensible Don" who I thought should have his own regular show. I have not heard him in several weeks and wonder if he got the boot, too? Can any of the WLW insiders advise on this? Thanks.

While I agreed with most of what he said, I stopped listening to any of the WLW shows that featured "Sensible Don" on them. Daryl Parks seems to do fairly well by himself, so I'm not sure why he chose to have "Don" on with him as much as he did. I found it was a little hard to understand what "Don" was saying and he seemed to be talking away from the microphone.

Don's not a bad sidekick. He was alternating between Gary Jeff and Darryl's show on Saturdays. They tried him solo once and it was kind of a disaster. Maybe he can get the nod to co-host afternoons.

Daryl Parks voice is as irritating as Sensible Don's voice.
What is the back story on this "Don" fellow. I have heard him briefly with Parks. Was he walking my the station one day when Parks invited him inside??

Yes....He doesn't have a radio voice, but he sure does add some good opinions and entertainment to whatever he does.

And....no one has yet answered the question I asked.... Where is he?

Did he get the boot, too?

I have not heard him in some time. He was almost a "regular" on Saturday mornings for quite a while...

LOL.... What do you expect It is Clear Channel afterall.
Well after the banishing from the airwaves of McConnell, I would have thought his name would forever be removed from the web of the Big One.

Not so fast, my friend.

Here's the quote that killed me:
Gary Jeff Walker called him this morning with the news. Said Don: “He was surprised. He didn’t think they’d be so childish.”
Childish. Right... like you need the "talent" appearing on a supposed competing station.

It's the WLW/CC Way of programming. Don was not paid and was a guest of both Parks and GJW even though He was promised a contract many times Parks never made it happen. I guess they are worried that the little one 1160 is gaining ground on them.

It doesn't matter what the "programming" is. You don't go on two different stations owned by two different companies and expect nothing to happen.

It's like me being a manager at Macy's and working at Nordstrom's on the side - it simply doesn't happen.

Whatever, WLW is a shell of itself now anyway. It seems picky to me that they would worry about this unless they are upset that Eric Deters is their new morning man which is probably why they care so much about a former caller and guest host.

Matt is right, here. I was pretty sure that CC wouldn't allow this.
You know, you shouldn't promise anything that you know you cannot deliver.
I worked for Gannett, many moons ago. The President at our Detroit combo told me to "promise them anything to get them in the door" then give them the reality once they are all signed on. The "they" being the new talent and employees.
