Sep 2025 PPM Ratings

WXYT remains on top, with WNIC in 2nd. WMXD leapfrogged a falling WOMC for 3rd. WYCD managed a gain to remain in 5th.

WDZH was flat in what is likely to be the last book before they start splitting Alternative share with the reborn 89X.

WLLZ remains down. With WOMC falling and WCSX flat, where are Classic Rock fans moving their ears to?

Sports. The same thing is happening in Philly.

Men like rock and men like sports. The Tigers are in the playoffs, so they're listening to sports.
I also wonder if there was some panel turnover?

Multiple urban stations gained share (WMXD, WMGC, WGPR).

89X was on the air for 20 days of the just released survey period, which might've had a minor effect on stations such as WRIF and even WOMC. A lot of people use WOMC as a P2 or P3 station. 89X isn't encoded, so we won't see data for them.

When including streaming share, WXYT-FM has been the #1 station in 6+ and among male listeners forever, a streak that might only get interrupted when WNIC is all-Christmas.

Going sports heavy and scaling way back on non-sports call-in topics several years ago gave 97.1 a big boost that has been lasting. Jimmy Powers misread the market for years. The years where Bill McAllister was morning show lead and where little airtime in morning drive was devoted to actual sports talk were squandered.
