Wonder how the format flip to “oldies with a twist” will effect KOAI, especially in the money demographics considering they are going after the 55+ baby boomer crowd. Probably will take a bite out of KAZG’s share! Also, now that KGME is in HD at 99.9 HD-2, how long before Bonneville gives in and puts KTAR-AM on 92.3 HD-3 or KMVP-FM 98.7 HD-2? Even better, when will KGME get an FM translator?

Wonder how the format flip to “oldies with a twist” will effect KOAI, especially in the money demographics considering they are going after the 55+ baby boomer crowd.

The one thing I can say is this is a demo that doesn't like change. As others have mentioned, it wasn't really a real format change, but a branding adjustment. The upside is they're probably playing more 60s than they were. The downside is they're mostly the same songs on the competition. The wild card is how the audience responds to the millennial country songs in the mix. I think KAZG may experience an increase.
