I was surprised to hear Bob and Tom or whoever recounting the events of that day, with real people telling how they felt. Then I heard Alan Jackson's song "Where Were You" (which inspired the name of a thread on the Standards board here at http://www.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,80504.0.html). I remembered that this was now The Rooster, a station I had not heard before for some reason. I have a new car and maybe the radio works differently.
But imagine my surprise to find out what this station actually does. At the time we should have been remembering the first plane (if we were going to acknowledge the day at all) I heard this (I don't remember the exact quotes, but it went something like this):
"Where can I find a woman?"
"About 200 miles away."
"That's too far."
"You can always go to see Joe."
"I don't do weird stuff."
"You'll have to take two guys with you."
"Why?"
"Because Joe don't do weird stuff neither."
Soon I was relieved to hear Billy Vaughn instead of Billy James. I thought The Rooster was going to do something to "improve" its signal (meaning I'd get less interference on my station).
