WCSX remains on top and sports a gain to a 7.1 cume. Whatever they are doing is working, and working well. WNIC is in 2nd. While they closed the gap a bit, they are more than a full point behind WCSX. WMXD and WOMC were tied for third. WOMC has stabilized after a rough first half of 2019. WWJ fell, but remains in the Top 5. WKQI, WMGC WRIF, WYCD and The Ticket hold the 6-10 spots. WMGC held most of the full point it gained last month perhaps demonstrating that they do have staying power. Rock Station Marconi Winner WRIF was flat as was WYCD. The Ticket saw a minor gain but is badly underperforming where it was just a few short years ago. The Breeze had a slight fall. The 3.9 it pulled this month may prove to be near the average it gets. It'll be interesting to see if Entercom will have it go all Christmas next month or have WOMC do it. WLLZ fell .4. The Lions season did little for WJR which barely saw a blip at 2.3.
WDMKs first period under Beasley saw a half point drop.
One thing WCSX is doing that other stations are not is using Digital Billboards around town to advertise what song/group are playing at any moment. I have to believe this gets people to tune in. It worked for me at least once last month. I've not seen any other station use them in the way to promote what is actually airing at a given moment. Whether it's that, or something else, it's working!
