September ratings are here

We now have the September numbers: https://ratings.****************/content/arb033

Biggest eye openers are the numbers for the "classic" formats. Classic Rock The Eagle surges to the #2 spot. Classic Hits The Spot is getting close to a slumping Sunny. And Classic Country on 97.1 continues to do well for a rimshot, even more impressive when you note that the KTHT stream is doing a 0.5. Much of these stations' listener base is probably way too old to be sales friendly, but obviously there are a lot of listeners who are dissatisfied with the material the music industry is currently pumping into the market. Even true Classical Music, relegated to an HD2, still shows a pulse.

Elsewhere The Box is pulling away from The Beat.

93Q still managing to stay a little ahead of a no longer charging Bull.

Sports on 610 and 790 seem to draw a lot more listeners than 97.5, but it always seems the FM leads in the target demos. Usual story of AM radio skewing too old? Note in DFW that full signal sports on KRLD-FM more than doubles the share either of the Houston AM sportstalkers, and that's with two other FM sports stations in that market. Still think iHeart or Entercom should be going after 92.1.

I guess Air1 is no longer subscribing to the book; however their DFW outlet still does and is doing surprisingly well for a rimshot.

And our favorite dumpster fire KROI slips back a bit. Three months left in the supposed "three year CHR project." Will we see a new format come January? Or a long-anticipated sale?
