September Ratings.....

"I'm curious though; Is that score of 0.0 for the translator only? I'm not sure how these ratings work."

Well, yes and no. I believe they do include the audience for the main WTSH-FM signal. But the shares reported are only the audience in the Atlanta metro. Floyd County, where Rome is located, is outside the metro so any listeners there are not counted in the shares.

the ratings for wtsh include those listening on the translator, wsb fm hd's channel as well as 107.1
the "rating" of 0.0 is misleading as what is reported in the trades in market "share" and the station does show up under a point in total 6+ persons and nearly a point and a half among 18-34

To the best of my knowledge, the ratings include the main station AND the translator. I'm not sure if there is a way to determine which listeners come from what source but I believe the overall ratings are combined.

Several posters here and in other boards have mentioned they like 103.7 Chuck (also a Cox station) and it's playlist which includes more of a lighter, Classic Hits leaning variety. With Atlanta having a hole for this format due to 97.1 and 100.5 leaning Classic Rock and B98.5 leaning heavily on Hot AC, could Cox have a winner if they were to simulcast 103.7 Chuck (or a lighter leaning classic hits or true AC) on 107.1 and on the translator? This would give them a huge northern suburb coverage where I would imagine this format would fare well with the soccer moms. It could also get them into the metro via the translator if they can ever get the signal issues worked out where the main feeds and translator come together.

That's what I said they should have done from the start. It wouldn't have made sense when B98.5 was still more AC than Hot (too much cannibalization), but it makes much more sense now now that B has just about vacated the Mainstream AC space. They'd have to tweak the playlist to be more of a flanker than a cannibal (maybe go easier on the recurrents).

They could operate both 107.1 and 103.7 as a twin-stick, and say to hell with the translator and pick up most of their more suburban target audience.

Nope. I'm not going by any shares published in the trades. I'm looking at actual Nielsen numbers through Tapscan. In Persons 6+, WTSH has a 0.0 average rating. In Adults 18-34, WTSH has a .1 rating. They do have a 6+ cume of just under 170,000.

correct, a 0.0 "rating" 6+ but a 0.6 'share" in that demo.
a 0.1 "rating' 18-34 and a 1.3 'share" in that demo from Sept.
My only point was what we see published here and in the trades are 'shares" not "ratings" and the new station does have a small slice of the market share.

Roddy & Joe are both correct. WTSH has a 0.0 AQH Rating in the 6+ demo, but also does have a 0.6 market SHARE in that same demo. Sales use AQH rating points, programmers look at both rating and share and are usually bonused on market share and rank.

So Radio 105.7 has seen a drop in the ratings; Could this be contributed to X107 or would that be a fair statement?

X107-1 has been guaranteeing at .2 rating among Adults 18-34 to advertisers. At a .1, that's a lot of makegoods.

So, my original question was whether or not WWWQ-HD3 could actually be hurting both Power and their own sister Q100. Both of these stations have been sliding backwards while Q’s 250-watt CHR is actually up slightly. I kinda find it interesting. Any one else?
