Service Broadcasting has a new guy in charge

Michael Erickson has been hired to the Director of Operations postition for Serivce Broadcasting.

He will replace longtime VP of Programming Ken Dowe, who is retiring. Mr. Erickson will assume responsibility for Urban KKDA (K-104), Urban AC KRNB and R&B oldies KKDA-A. He will report directly to owner Pres/CEO Hyman Childs
 
Mike is da man! I remember him on KMEL out in San Francisco back in the early 90's. I know back then, he was a "mixshow-friendly" guy. He even did his own mixes on KMEL back in the day, so maybe he'll bring some flava to K104.
 
Happy retirement, Kenny!! Last of the McLendon boys in control of the airwaves in DFW (unless you count Ron.) You'll be missed.

Wish they'd brought in Elroy Smith...ya know, father of 100.3 Jamz!!

Elroy has too much power with Radio One/Philly to come back to D/FW
 
Let's hope he doesn't run that group into the ground like he did in SF. I've been in a lot of markets and lots of stations over the last 3 decades and never met a bigger phony
