Ok need some help,
I have a 25mw transmitter, tuned dipole for 91.7, a mixer(adio technica am150)
so hook it all up and when I add the mic to the mixer,I get a terrible hum? am I doing something wrong/

Set Up is this mixer, mic(xlr),ouput to input on transmitter,to antenna?
I cna put any thing in to this transmitter, but when I hook up the mic to the mixer -hum likes crazy.
If I just feed a cd player to the transmitter it does'nt happen ?

Is your mixer grounded? I know I get a bit of a hiss when I flip my mic on without first grounding the mixer.<P ID="signature">______________

Mic Hum

If you can, see if the hum is present with the transmitter off. You can do this by listening to the mixer output with headphones. My guess is that the hum will still be there which means that you have a bad mic cable, an improperly wires mic cable or something similar. Rane Corp. has a great web page devoted to wiring audio equipment including mixers at http://rane.com/note110.html.

If the hum goes away when you turn off the transmitter, you are getting RF Feedback which is pretty unlikely at that low power level. Moving your transmitter and antenna farther away from the mixer will probably help.
