Several CC Owned CHRs Dropped From The Mediabase Panel?

I'm curious, does anyone know why effective immediately Mediabase decided to drop the following CHRs from its roster:
WKKF 102.3 Kiss FM Albany, WZKF 98.9 Kiss FM Louisville, WDKF Channel 94-5 Dayton, WKGS 106.7 Kiss FM Rochester, and WLKT 104.5 The Cat.

Here's you (very sad) reason:

WKKF- Albany. Wednesday Midnight-2am

Lady Gaga- Poker Face
Kanye West- Love Lockdown
Ne-Yo- Mad
Pussycat Dolls- Don't Cha
Beyonce- Halo
Darude- Sandstorm
Flo Rida- Sugar
Rihanna- Disturbia
Black Eyed Peas- Boom Boom Pow
Sean Kingston- Fire Burning
The Fray- You Found Me
Kanye West- Heartless
TI- Dead and Gone
Britney Spears- Piece of Me
Usher- Yeah
Kelly Clarkson- My Life Would Suck Without You
MIA- Paper Planes
Pussycat Dolls- I Hate This Part
Panic at the Disco- I Write Sins Not Tragedies
Soulja Boy- Kiss Me Through the Phone
Kevin Lyttle- Turn Me On
3Oh!3- Don't Trust Me
Estelle- American Boy
Flo Rida- Right Round
Kristina Debarge- Goodbye
Jamie Foxx- Blame It
Taylor Swift- Love Story
Ne-Yo- Mad
Diddy- Last Night
TI- Live Your Life

WKGS- Rochester, Wednesday Midnight-2

Lady Gaga- Poker Face
Kanye West- Love Lockdown

Black Eyed Peas- Boom Boom Pow
Sean Kingston- Fire Burning

Estelle- American Boy
Flo Rida- Right Round
Kristina Debarge- Goodbye
Jamie Foxx- Blame It
Taylor Swift- Love Story
Ne-Yo- Mad
Diddy- Last Night
TI- Live Your Life

One song difference- "Yeah" by Usher. Probably a drop option song in Rochester to hit a break.

National programming. When a bunch of stations have the EXACT same playlist... why count all of them towards the charts?

PS- Same reason why the CC Hot ACs and Alt stations were pulled from their panels too. No need for a local PD anymore. What a sad, sad state of radio. :-\

Are they sharing the same playlist in other dayparts/time slots?
There's a lot of other CHRs that sound exactly the same between 6-11 PM when they air Jackson Blue's Party Playhouse, but I havent seen them get dropped from the roster.
Or what about all the Cumulus CHRs being programmed to sound the same? Rob Thomas has a new song out called "Her Diamonds". Only a handful of non-Cumulus CHRs added it so far, while all the Cumulus CHRs already have it at or near their Top 10...

Stations don't get dropped/added based on anything they play from midnight to 5am.

It's the entire day's playlist... not just overnights. I just grabbed those hours because they were at the top.

Song for song, hour by hour, exactly the same.

Playlist-wise, most Cumulus CHRs are very alike, but I don't think they're EXACTLY the same on MULTIPLE stations yet, like CC has rolled out here.

My understanding is that these five stations are running the EXACT same playlist from 10AM-6AM. Yes, 20 hours of the day.

That's not to mention the dozens of CC CHRs that are now running equivalent canned overnights only, but I guess they didn't deem that worthy of throwing the majority of the panel away. I wonder what will happen if/when more CC stations pick up the national programming, though.

"Premium Choice" is glorified voicetracking, and it's almost the same as satellite formats minus the magic call drops. It's Nexgen running WANed voice tracks and music logs from another source. Sounds totally generic and cookie cutter, and no I'm not knocking the "elite" large market talent being used (and I'm not knocking Elvis Duran and Ryan Seacrest, either).

WLKT Lexington and Kiss FM in Louisville have been nearly identical for a few years now..... Not to this extent though.. Also seems Kiss louisville is now skewing back more rhythmic again..... WDJX Louisville owns,,, wish they streamed,, I can DX the station in the car sometimes, but id like to have it 24/7 online.

Well they're only skewing more rhythmic again because the Premium Choice music skews rhythmic!

It's sad all these CHRs are programmed exactly the same as each market is different. At the same time, after looking at the music logs they are playing the hits, not leaning overly Rhythmic, and thankfully not leaning Adult. It's just cookie cutter CHRs taken to a more extreme level. Still, I dont know if they should all have been dropped from the CHR/Pop panel - they should at least acknowledge this 20 hour playlist as at least one reporter station, but give it a bit more weight as if it's based in a Top 10 market (add up the cume for the five CHRs and that's what you'd likely get anyway).

BTW Clubber, while 99.7 DJX Louisville is still a fun CHR you should know that they too carry nationally programmed music for 5 hours each day...while most CHRs air Jackson Blue Party Playhouse in the evenings or late nights, it actually airs in afternoons at DJX:
http://www.wdjx.com/pages/1940027.php

Granted, I think the show's pretty good, musically-speaking, but it is the same exact 5 hours of music you'll hear on all the other CHRs carrying his show that day.

I wonder if they air the show a day late???? Scratches head... i think Jackson Blue is a good personality,,, didnt care much for Romeo, Perhaps his name was too Preppy for me.... but the music has always been good,,, even back when it was called the all night cafe,, its like a weeday version of OHP.... Party Playhouse only airs on 43 stations as of now,,, no where near the affiliates of OHP,,,Seacrest..ETC..... I still think the show belongs on overnights,,, Fits Better,,, thats when Power Hits 97.5 airs it...

This is a very interesting discussion. The trade charts (Mediabase and BDS) will have to decide how they will measure airplay. If music decisions at some stations are no longer being made there, then they probably shouldn't get credit or benefits for making those decisions. Perhaps we will see individual show playlists (Seacrest) or company playlists rather than station playlists.
