several stations are not broadcasting

For about three weeks, neither 780 in Jackson/Madison County or 810 Simpson County have been broadcasting, although I read that the Magee station was back on the air today.

Also, this weekend, the AM station in Hazlehurst (1220) was all static.

WIIN 780 filed another STA with the FCC to go silent. Don't know about Hazlehurst.

If they aren't going to do anything with WIIN, why don't they just sell it? Its got a decent signal when everything is working.

I agree. When they were simulcasting Y101, they were getting out farther than 101.7.

When David Adcock used to do his sunday show on the old Rock 102, he used to mention getting requests from Arkansas listeners who were listening to him on AM 780.

I heard 1220 in Hazelhurst over the weekend and your right. It was static. Just a lot of loud white noise. But if you listen carefully you hear something in the background but couldn't make out what was being said

1270 in Montecello is back on with black gospel.

1220 could have a problem with one of their STL hops. They run some local programming in the Hazlehurst studio, but the rest of the programming (IIRC) is coming from the Brookhaven studio to the 102.1 tower site in Monticello and on to Hazlehurst from there.

1220 in Hazlehurst was airing WITHOUT ANY STATIC for the first time in months this weekend. I still do not hear anything on 780, though.

Yes 102.1 is back on the air. Last time i listen to it it had a little bit of interference locally but I was listening to Glenn Beck in the morning.

According to the FCC CDBS, WIIN-AM recently filed an STA to remain silent. The STA expires in April, 2011. 780 isn't gone for good, but they can keep it off the air for a while if necessary.

Could 780 be gone for good?

I still think they should either sell it or get a translator for it so they can broadcast at night. the AM used to have a great signal, that could get into Arkansas a little during the day.

What station and location is 102.1. I listen to Glen Beck (although I seldom listen to him because of different opinions) on 1590-AM in Jackson.
