severe weather coverage

WRAL TV-5 in Raleigh, North Carolina is the best IMO. They have 6 full-time meteorologists and they are all about weather 24-7. Nobody in this market even comes close. They are North Carolina's News Leader for a reason. They didn't fall off the back of the turnip truck last week. :D

6 now isn't that to many? The most I know a TV station to have was 4. As the guy in the morning and afternoon, evening weather guy and 11pm newscast weather guy. Morning weekend weather and then evening weekend weather. Which all adds up to four.

In Indianapolis, WTHR and WISH both had five at one time. Both stations currently list four (although WISH has four degree-holding meterologists, and WTHR has three degree-holding meteorologists and one forecaster)

Weekdays: A meteorologist in the morning and noon, another at 5, 6 and 11, and another at 5:30 and 10

Weekends: A Sat-Sun. morning met. and another one on the 6 and 11 broadcasts.

Then a meteorologist fills in where needed, basically giving you the 6.
