Severin Goes into Radio Rewind Without Notice

Jay Severin said he had laryngitis and did "live with Jay" from 3 to 5 but came out of the 5 PM News with a repeat of the first two hours without informing the listeners that it was a repeat.

Not very professional WTKK 96.9.

Not sure why WTKK means so little to Greater Media. Consistently sloppy.

Maybe he was genuinly sick?
He did tell everyone that he had laryngitis, so in his defense, what else does he need?

Being a last minute decision (and, given the circumstances), I could hardly call going into a tape replay "sloppy."

You do what you can. Can't blame the guy for getting sick.
Those things happen. Not like you never left work early when
you didn't feel a 100%. Plus, WTKK doesn't believe in having a
capable bench.

They don't have any bench.

No, it is not his fault that he got sick....again, but it is the station's fault for letting the listeners who tuned in at 5 think it was a live show when is truth it was a rerun of the first two hours. What did they do in the last hour?
96.9 has to do better than this if they really want to compete.

At normal stations the host would call out sick. WTKK doesn't believe in subs so there's nobody to fill in on the quick. It's a halfassed station.

No Hannity Live? (no txt)

There's a show on opposite Howie? I didn't know that! :)

I remember a few shows when Howie's voice got worse and worse
toward the end of the show but he stuck it out, _and_ a time
when VB was filling in for him and he--also with a sore
throat--could barely speak at one point. So I think the rest
of the show was taken over by a couple of their news staff
(Ben Parker or was it Paul Tuthill, and Marga Bessette, IIRC)

WTKK does need some bench players, too, as we see everytime they
wind up going to live Hannity instead of a local-replacement
for James Severino.
