Severin reruns?

VayCayJay...Graham has been filling in, too.
Next week Howie's on vacation with Col. Hunt and maybe other people (Avi?) filling in

Howie and the Colonel are on vacation together? Hot!

Maybe Nancy Shack can cozy up to the mic and let us hear her hefty voice for a few hours.

I don't want to start any trouble on the board but get this.... I hear Severin doesn't use his real name! Can you believe that.... more at 11

NNNNOOOOO say it ain't true, next you'll tell me he's not really from Boston and used to do his show from NY!

or god forbid he has a family he doen't want to talk about on the radio... ::)

For those of us who did not know, the following are facts about Mr. Severin:
1. He does not use his real name.
2. Before he crashed and burned in syndication, he did his show from New York state and pretended that he was in Boston.
3. He has misrepresented his education.
4. He tries to represent himself as a stud muffin, but is married and has a family, another misrepresentation.
5. Many believe that he has become a pathetic, one trick pony with far to generous and far to lengthy contract.

Getting back to the original topic, I think it is somewhat surprising that when Jay is on vacation, the station doesn't have anyone to fill in, such as an Avi Nelson, etc.
I couldn't believe that they reran Thursday's show on Friday with Graham filling in for Jay.
Why don't they give Moe Lauzier a call...

I agree 100%. In this political environment, where the Drudge web page is changing a few times an hour, a 're-run' of a previous day's talk show is the epitome of laziness and simple bad business. People tune in to find out the now, not the yesterday or last week. I hope their ratings totally tanked on days where Jay was 'elsewhere' (quotes used for emphasis).

This 'stupid pet trick'...and the other 'stupid pet trick' of running 'infomercials' (WBZ did so last night)...means that good on-air talent is left on the sidelines while these 'good business decisions' are in play. Yes, I know a re-run and an infomercial are 'better for the bottom line.' But these are your proverbial trees that fall in the forest. They don't make a sound because no one's around to hear them.

I'm just wondering if there was some kind of emergency or something.

TKK doesn't usually re-run stuff the very next day. Sounds like they needed something to air on the spot.

Maybe someone had an auto accident, someone got stcuk in traffic, ruished to a hospital?

I'm just imaginging the clock is clicking dfown to airtime...and someone isn't there. Last minute decision to replay yesterdays show seems like an OK "on the spot" decision.

for somebody that doesn't like him, your awfully obcest with his life...

who's the "many"? the people on here? do the "many" realize half the people in radio are one trick ponys with far to lengthy contracts. or do "they" only think that about the people they don't agree with.

soooo you think he's a "stud muffin"

Once upon a time I liked listening to Severin. His political views, to a degree, mirror mine. But his 'schtick' is an acquired taste, and I never really acquired it. I'm not impressed at all by his imagined sexual prowess, and it's quite amusing that he believes he is 'appealing' to women. Maybe to those in jail, behind bars. But having seen this guy, I can only scratch my head and say 'Huh?'

His pattern of using 11 words to say what us mere mortals can say in six is also grating.

All I came away with from Severin, before I shut him off completely, is that Here's a guy who is trying to impress people. And if there's one thing we don't need is another media person trying to be 'impressive.' Listeners might say the same about Rush Limbaugh, but at least Rush interjects parody, humor, and absurdity to illustrate absurdity. I think Severin needs to whittle a bit more on his stick before he reaches that stage.

No, I don't think it was anything like that. This isn't the first time they've done it. It's the strangest thing to be driving home from work and hearing the exact same show you heard on the previous day's commute. You'd think afternoon drive was a big revenue point for a radio station. If I'm an advertiser, am I getting my money's worth when TKK does this?

I know today is Good Friday, but Severin used a repeat of his 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. material to fill the time between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. I guess he has more important things to which to attend than do a live show for four hours. You're welcome for your job, Jay.
