sorry about this posting twice... computer issues.....

Summer ratings, especially in mornings, are never taken very seriously. Some morning shows in the country take upwards of 4-6 weeks of vacation in the summer.
With some executives I know, it can actually be seen as a negative for a morning show to perform well in the summer but not as well in the other three books.
I don't mean to rain on your parade Leeanne, if your morning show puts up similiar numbers this fall than I'll start to be a believer.
Just my thoughts.

hey thats cool.... i was just showing that they did well this book. and that yes, they did beat the T man.. thats all...

T-Man is one of those guys that dude was just talkin bout that was on vacation all summer...so what does that prove?
I know that he was on vacation for a fact cause we were pulling our hair out waiting for spmething to listen to...and i told u to stop seeming obsessed Leanne it's sad.........

T-Man has had a successful run in Seattle, but underperforms the station. He is fortunate in Seattle to be in market that has no rhythmic competition, no urban and a Mainstream CHR that is very weak. The Mainstream is correcting itself and T-Man is crumbling in his home town. I am not surprised to see the weak showing in SF. I was struck by the strength of Don B at STAR and yet how weak the rest of the station is. KLLC is just weak. I wonder why these stations don't lean toward the playlists of KSTP-FM and KPLZ-FM. Both stations have become kind of a hybrid HOT/AC playing core Hot/AC songs but mixing in big Country and Mainstream CHR hits. The success in key female 25-54 demos of these two stations is quite remarkable. The other option available is a Mainstream CHR. It failed years ago in SF, but that may have been execution, not the format. KGO continues to have great strength in the market. What is the key to the strength. AM on the West Coast has been hurt dramatically in the past few years, yet it SF it remains viable. From my time there as a consultant I always thought terrain helped AM and hurt FM. I have checked in on the SF board on a regular basis and am baffled at the amount of interest in T-Man.

There isn't much interest IMHO. It's just about 2 or 3 people on this board who talk about it...

obsessed? i answer one person who asked if the t man was in the top 3, and I'm obsessed?
that is funny......
btw... woody was on vaca for 3 weeks out of the summer.... didnt hurt them did it?

That was the point I was trying to make, It may be because they WERE on vacation that their numbers went up. That's why I say if Live 105 mornings get similiar numbers in the Fall then I'll be a believer but not until then.
As far as T-Man the goes, he has undeniably been a legend in the Seattle market for over 10 years. Very few morning show talents dominate in their demo's for as long as he has. But as I speculated a year ago, the simulcast to KYLD could cause his KUBE numbers to slip a bit. I think he still is sitting on a breakout in the Bay ratings. He has almost doubled the ratings in San Jose since he took over the morning slot and me and numerous collegues of mine believe that that will follow suit In San Francisco. We'll see.

The San Jose numbers are part of the San Francisco numbers; it's an embedded market.

This is true, and the San Jose market accounts generally for just over 1/3 of the diaries. We'll have to see how the people meter allocations go geographically. It has given the SiliconValley an inordinate amount of sway over the San Francisco market, IMHO.
