SF radio on Yelp

A look at how SF's top 20 rated (6+, English speaking) stations fare on Yelp.

4.5 STARS: KQED, KISQ, KBLX
4.0 STARS: KCBS, KIOI, KGMZ
3.5 STARS: KOIT, KYLD, KMVQ, KMEL, KFOG, KNBR, KNEW (KKSF)
3.0 STARS: KKSF (KOSF), KSFO
2.5 STARS: KLLC, KSAN
2.0 STARS: KITS
1.0 STARS: KGO, KREV

I suspect Yelp ratings are a good indication of how passionate each station's core audience is about the station.

Which of them are paying to advertise on Yelp? That has a magical way of making low ratings go away...

Yelp is not a good source to gauge how radio stations are favored, nor is it good for much of anything, kind of like radio-info is not a good source either.

I would certainly rate KQED high and KREV low. Overall, not in disagreement with any of the ratings. KISQ & KBLX are higher than I would rate them, but as I said in the initial post, Yelp "stars" are probably a good indication of how passionate each station's core is about the station.

Actually it is, most people hate hearing the same crap over and over and people on yelp for the most part are regular people complaining. People will agree the radio sucks and is getting worse.

Well, KREV is low because everyone still misses KNGY (Energy 92.7), and don't like hearing the same stuff that 99.7 Now plays...
