Back when KTVU started doing that, in fact, they had to receive specific authorization from the FCC to use a dual-city station identified.
Personally, I best remember the old animated ID from some twenty years or more ago, which started zoomed in on an upside-down channel 2 logo, then pulled away as it rotated to correct position. When it got right-side-up, the lettering "KTVU Oakland-San Francisco" appeared underneath the top portion of the "2" and the announcement was simply "THIS ... is Channel Two."<P ID="signature">______________
