KNX issued the usual statement announcing that they and Ludlum have "parted ways." Doesn't that usually mean "I want more money" and "No, you're fired"? Ludlum began in radio in 1975 as a traffic reporter at KXRX in San Jose and quickly worked his way up to assistant news director. He later worked in Seattle and Kansas City before becoming program director of KABC/KMPC in 1996. He moved to KFWB in 1998 and since 2009 had been program director of KFWB and KNX. Evening news anchor Bill Polish also exited KNX, retiring after a 35-year career as a news reporter that included stations in Chicago, San Francisco, Minneapolis and San Jose. He also worked as afternoon business news reporter on KNX and afternoon news anchor on KFWB.
