According to the New York Post (Page 6 July 5th 2005)
"The Tony Danza Show" was the site of a mini-massacre this week, with sidekick Ereka Vetrini being axed, along with several producers. And now, insiders say, despite the show's being picked up for one more year, distributor Buena Vista is already preparing a replacement program to be hosted by (Gloria) Estefan.

The last few weeks have seen reruns (at least here in Phoenix). I was waiting for Tony's jabs at Reeg and Kelly's cruise shows from last month.

This is surprising, I thought that the flagship of the show, WABC-7/New York, was winning in their timeslot? I guess not.

I'm glad, I hate these reality show goofballs getting jobs in TV. Why does Tony Danza need an anouncer/sidekick?

Andy Richter was the last great talk show sidekick, and his time came and went. He sure blew it leaving that show huh?

The worst is Stuttering John, I bet Leno can't wait to axe him!

1. The New York Post is not a good source for anything, as its well known for its lies and falsehoods. They even cook their circ numbers.

2. Danza is very popular in NYC, and is part of a big NYC morning program block and is promoted as such. <P ID="signature">______________

At this point in the year most talk shows are in reruns. I remember Rosie O'Donnel saying on her talk show that most talk shows have new episodes 36-39 weeks of the year. There are 52 weeks in a year. So that will make 13-16 weeks of reruns. Most will take a few weeks off here and there during the season and most are off the air for the summer. Most talk shows start their new season the second or third week in September.<P ID="signature">______________

Why does Tony Danza need an anouncer/sidekick?

Because he wants to be a showoff and become another Regis. That's one of the reasons I can't stand him. Couldn't stand him on Taxi and Who's The Boss. He sounds like Rocky Balboa in the way he acts and talks. He might be number 1 in New York but in other cities his show ranks in some places last in the ratings. And they wanted to replace Wayne Brady with him?? Wayne Brady was the better host and talk show.

Now Gloria Estefan's talk show might have some possibilities there. She is a great singer and her husband can lead the band.

Agreed---saw her fill in for Rosie, and she did a great job. Very relatable to the money demographic, and a seemingly genuinde person.

Whats funny is. The Tony Danza Show is shown here in Chicago on WLS at 2am after the rebroadcast of the 10pm news!!.

But coming in the fall i belive it will move to WMAQ at 10am. Ellen which is on at that time on WMAQ is moving to 3pm and Dr. Phil which is on at 3pm will move to WBBM at 4pm. WBBM's news is cancelled at 4pm.

So it will be interesting what he will do here in Chicago. Or if he will still make it...

Now Ellen is an entertaining talk show. Also, Wayne Brady is better than Tony.

He's on at 2:05am here in L.A. (KABC). Since Dr. Phil is moving to KCBS soon (I think in 2006), if Danza is still around, he might move to KNBC, but they might plans to move to KNBC to replace Jane Pauley at 10am this fall (where he might get crushed by Price is Right and The View).
