Shalom television

Up in Northeast Philly today, I saw many billboards advertising Shalom TV, a digital channel on Comcast, serving the Jewish population, with shows, news, you name it. LOL, here we go again, there are Black, Hispanic and now Jewish, wonder what took so long LOL...Does anyone know about this new channel. What about me....:(

O'Hara: what's next? How about you complaining how the Chinese restaurants in Chinatown are showing Chinese programming on their televisions, that are offered on Direct TV...instead of showing American programs? Do you ever stop?

I know about the Chinese TV shows thing because this restaurant on Race Street had their TV on, and they were showing Chinese programs. The shows featured Chinese commercials for businesses in California. I'm assuming that's where these Chinese networks are distributed for those in the States who subscribe to them.

Either you are really RockIntern aka RunWithScissors...or you know who that guy is...and you are posting on his behalf...because the mods evidently nuked him...again.

What about me.... :(

Channel 35 has both Irish and Italian programs for you.
And I heard a while back the two gay Vietnam vets are still doing a show someplace.

Heinlein: All religions are ridiculous from the outside

If you actually took a second to look, it's a premium channel. Do you have a problem with EWTN too?

Here's my problem: I read about channels we don't get and which sound interesting. Yet all these religious channels seem to suck up all the available bandwidth. Does anybody watch them? Or do they use all their tax-free income from ripping off little old ladies to buy up channel space?

I have the same problem, BTW, with all the [edit] shopping channels and infomercial channels.

The reason that the Christian channels are everywhere is simply because few of them cost the local cable company anything to carry, whereas most other basic channels have a per-subscriber fee attached.

Speaking of which, if "O'Hara" is a conservative Christian, then he'd have several channels that are programmed for him in most areas...don't know why he'd complain about a single channel for Jewish viewers, all things considered. Liberal Christians do have something to complain about though, since there is nothing targeting them on TV.

I am an Episcopalian, and that is about as liberal a Christian you can get.
Most of the Episcopalians I know watch normal stuff, and the one show that was targeted at us got canceled because some "Christians" complained. The show? The Book of Daniel.
