For airing commercials during the victim impact statements at the hearing for the Station Nightclub Fire case. Both stations have missed portions of the statements coming back from break. I'm sure the clients will understand if their commercials air a couple of hours later than scheduled. And if they "sold" the hearing with a one sheet, may God have mercy on their souls.

A similar situation

Did anyone watch the coverage on Court TV? I wanted to also get the national network perspective but they took so many commercial breaks I had to keep switching over to Channel 12 which stayed live. With a case this big, I was surprised that Court TV would have so many interruptions. Anyone watching this from outside the local area on Court TV missed a lot. I am even more suprised that local radio would interrupt the coverage at all.

Perhaps Court TV knew about Channel 12's plans to air gavel-to-gavel coverage of the court proceedings...and assumed if people wanted to watch the coverage non-stop, they would tune to Channel 12...or whatever other local station carrying gavel-to-gavel coverage. Court TV provided the "pool feed" of the coverage.

may god have mercy on their souls? aren't we a little harsh?

Yes. A bit too much. But I do think they should have carried it live, uninterrupted, and without commercial sponsor. But business is business, and I understand that as well.
