Shame on WVIT aka NBC Connecticut HD. While Channels 3 and 8 (and 59) cut-off football to cover the Tornado Warning for Fairfield and New Haven County, WVIT is running both Weather and the Football Game. The square that is showing the weather is very small and you can't see a whole lot. Yeah you can hear what the weather forecaster is saying but visually the game has a bigger square. WVIT is only going to full-screen with the weather when the game goes into commercials.

Just as shameful is WVIT putting the brakes on coverage when the game goes to commercial -- as I understand it, many stations in Tornado Country would damn the commercials and keep going with coverage -- even when they have only a ticker, many stations would keep the ticker up during the break.
These days the weather service will issue a tornado warning if it thinks there MAY be one showing on radar,it dosnt need to be visual.Even the weather service is worried about sue happy people these days.
It could be worse. I remember in the late 70's (I think it was hurricane Belle) Channel 8, owned back then by Triangle I believe, cut it's news/weather coverage to go to the network movie! I'll always remember that as even at that age I know it was a bonehead move on there part.
