Shameless Self-Promotion But What The Heck!

Cool. I'll definitely have to check out your program. I love that they have the original DJ's on the 50s and I think the 60s channels. Unfortunately I didn't get to hear what top 40 radio sounded like because I was born too late. Oh boy, didn't mean to quote a song.

Girl, you need to get into airchecking (see the aircheck collectors board on this site). There is some great stuff out there from the late '50s & '60s. In fact, there are some tapes from Nashville's WLAC that are classic!

I've heard some of those, and they're cool. What I'd really like to hear, though, is uninterrupted radio like I used to make tapes of as a kid, with the music and commercials and all that jazz, like you guys would have heard it. I'm definitely gonna check out the aircheck board.

You would be looking for "unscoped" airchecks. That means they are complete with music, dj chatter, commercials, etc. Another good source would be: http://www.rockitradio.net/store.html

Hi oldiesgirl - You may also wanna check out reelradio.com.
Although there is a $10annual membership fee. Tha's annual.
They have tons of airchecks, jingles and all that stuff that depicts
the way radio used to be before it got destroyed by the 'suits' or
what are their names? Consultants?
