Shamokin/Sunbury/Bloomsburg R-I-P Jock Question

Somebody told me a long time jock from Central Pennsylvania in Shamokin, Sunbury and maybe Bloomsburg recently passed away. His name was Rick Riciglianno. If this is the guy I'm thinking of, he was relatively young...meaning 35 to 40. Anybody know if this is true? If its the guy I'm thinking of, he used to do remotes Friday nights at a bar in Shamokin. Also, if it is true, what happened? Car accident? If it isn't true, where is he now? He did a pretty decent job as I recall and those remotes from that bar were what got me to go there in the first place!

Yeah Rick did die...but your about 17 years too late. he had some medical problems that were related to his smoking I believe

That is ASTOUNDING, NCF! I mean, I believe you and all that but when you do the math for 17 years, that means he was really, really young when that happened! When you hear of somebody dying from smoking related causes, you think of someone who would be in their 60's+!

Well, I hope many have learned from this. Although it came to a very sad ending, maybe there were some impressions made about how ba smoking really is.

Thanks!

I worked for Rick for 9 years @ WSPI. He died from a massive heart attack. He was 39. I wouldn't be in radio today if it were not for him! He was an awesome programmer and an amazing person!
