Shannon Burke, Radio and "That Billboard"!

We take from our mistakes, we learn and move along... Life is about making mistakes it's not about being perfect.
There's that word again... "mistake."

Yeah, nobody's perfect. But getting yourself good 'n hammered and then waving a gun around in the same room with your wife goes a bit beyond being just a "mistake." Losing your car keys is a mistake.

why find fault?
Why find fault? Because he's damn lucky he didn't kill the love of his life though his recklessness. If you can't find fault with that...

And now he's making light of it by holding a smoking microphone like it's a smoking gun as a promotional billboard for his radio show.

I'm not saying to fire the guy or ban him for radio from life. Everyone deserves a second chance. But putting up that billboard makes me question whether or not he's really the "good guy" you want me to believe he is. He's clearly taken a few steps back from the edge, but I'm not entirely convinced yet that he's completely turned his life in a different direction.

And Michael Vick might be on the cover of Madden this year. Why do you feel the need to be the moral compass here?

Because Stormychuck felt the need to point his moral compass at Shannon Burke. Remember -- he's the one who started a thread specifically to sing Burke's praises and talk about what a great guy he is. I'm merely suggesting that there may be better people to celebrate than someone who almost killed his wife.

What's interesting about this is that Shannon Burke himself seems to have a more mature perspective on what he did than Stormychuck does. Burke's reply to me showed that he gets where I'm coming from. Stormychuck's reply to me tried to paint me as an unreasonable wingnut.

Side note... the fawning over Michael Vick doesn't exactly thrill me either. Like Burke, he paid his price and deserves a second chance, but only time will tell if he's truly changed or not. And not enough time has gone by to be sure.

Thanks MusicMan...I thought I was the only one that did not know who Shannon is...have not seen the billboards, maybe they are not in this area

Hey Shannon got to listen to you last night on RadioIo and you sounded good.

You are one person who understands that shit happens but you have moved on and up.

Hope to hear you again on RadioIo in the future!
