Shannon Drayer Shows up on Fox Sports Northwest

The beat radio reporter with the Mariners was let go by KOMO last month in one of the more inhumane sidelights to the station giving up the baseball contract. (They should have at least let her finish the season.)

Shannon is with the team in Kansas City this week, perhaps auditioning for a role in next year's television coverage. While she still sounds fine, she sometimes has a bit of the "deer in the headlights" look on camera.

For the first time I can see how she got into broadcasting through one of those notorious KJR contests.

Actually I heard KOMO did offer to let her stay through the end of the season - and she declined.

C'mon now - she ain't Nicole Zaloumis, but she's not as bad as you make her out to be.

They hired her so you don't have to stare at Bill Kreuger's hair.

Yea I caught that Shannon report on Mariner's Live. Looking forward to her work on FSNNW! ;)

C'mon be fair...EVERYONE needs a chance to get used to the mechanics of TV. The harder part to TEACH is "try to KNOW something about your topic" ... and Shannon already aces that part of the deal. FoxSp is lucky!
