Shark on Sports

In light of the recent changes at 1460...I saw mention of "Shark on Sports" on 103.9....just curious...how many actually listen to the show?? How many like it? I really think Mark "The Shark" Howell is really underrated as a sportscaster in Columbus. I admit I have listened to Mark for many, many years (since his WCOL days)....and I prefer listening to Mark and Jeff Logan before Buckeye games over BNS or TVN...and faithfully listen to the Saturday Sports Blitz.

I really do like listening to Mark, Logan and Thick Rick....any others thoughts on this group over the other local talkers?

I'm not really a fan of sports shows. However, I've heard Mark's show a couple times and I actually find it enjoyable. I'd say if I've got to listen to a sports show, I'd want it to be hosted by Mark the Shark. He actually knows his stuff.

I listen to Mark the Shark on the way home from work every day. It's a great show. Best thing available in Columbus as far as sports shows go.

Agreed 100%. He's not afraid to tell some callers they are full of bunk if they are out of line but for the most part let everyone speak their mind without judgment.

It's also interesting to hear Jeff Logan's perspective of the Buckeyes since he's so close to the program.

Glad to see everyone is in total agreement on this subject. Mark has always been a super talent with great sports knowledge and insight. He and Rick have a great rapport. And they're both genuinely nice people.

I think the big reason I enjoy his show over the other local shows is simple. He doesn't drown you with OSU talk day and night. It's nice to be able to get a local view on national topics. On 'BNS if the national topic isn't about the Bucks, you don't get much of it. Don't get me wrong, I love the Buckeyes, but come on, one can only take Spielman ranting and raving about them so much!

I like Shark too. The production value isn't up to par, and sometimes the callers scoop him on news and information (Producer???), but I like his perspective on things and he is entertaining. I'll listen to Shark before 1460 as well.

I worked with Mark The Shark during my brief one year tenure as Morning Host on the Blitz when the station kicked off in 1993. Mark is a class act! One of the best I've worked with.
Joe Willie Sousa (the artist formerly known as Wampas).

I too worked with Mark during my tenure as morning guy on Eagle 103.9.

Mark was VERY patient with me, as I don't think he knew what he was getting into when we started together.

When we got to know each other the chemistry was great, and I think he's an asset to the NABCO building that they've been smart to hang on to.

Mark the Shark is AWESOME! Great talent. I can still remember listening to his sports reports during the "Howard Stern Show" when it was on The Blitz..."Thhhhaaaaaat's Sports! I'm Mark the Shark. More coming up with Howard Stern on ninety-nine seven The Blitz". He has one of those voices you NEVER forget hearing coming out of the radio. We don't have enough of them on the radio these days. Anyhow, great job Mark! 8)
