SHARKEY

;D I was recently reading a piece of "pulp news" that mentioned "Shark Sharkey". I know this may be a stretch, but I worked with a guy in Gainesville Florida in the 70's that did news at WGGG named "Rob Sharkey" Is that his "DAD"..I'm being serious now Grease so, don't respond with no BS" APE!

I know that Michael "Shark" Sharkey, PD of 97X used to work in Gainesville back in the early 90's. I believe he worked at WKTK before getting a gig at WJRR in Orlando.

sharkey did not work at WJRR, he was the music director for WSHE 100.3, which later became an oldies station and is now a rumba station, i think.....

Gotta go back a bit farther.... to around 1994. He was originally brought in to handle evenings at WJRR sometime during Steve Robertson's tenure. At some point, I believe he took a PD gig in Ft. Myers but came back to Orlando when formats and talents where shifted between 101.1 and 100.3. Shark was Music Director for She 100.3. Great guy and does a hell of a job at 97X with the tools he has to work with. Shark and "X" have always deserved one of the better signals within the Cox group.

::) Gee, I'm appreciative for that information, but can anybody answer the orginal question? APE
