Sharpton on Imus

From what I've been reading, Rev Al has given his "blessings" to allow Imus to return to radio. Sharpton was quoted as saying "it wasn't his desire to deny Imus a living." Excuse me? I thought Al was the head cheerleader to have Imus fired from both CBS and MSNBC; so when did he change his tune? The rumor is that Imus could be back on WFAN by September. Whether he will return to MSNBC is doubtful, depending on how 'Morning Joe' does in the ratings. Also take into consideration that Imus will have to start from scratch when it comes to obtaining affiliates across the country. I'm sure Imus would love to return behind the microphone but then again he might fool everyone and just stay retired and count his money.

Sharpton (the haircutter) will say whatever he has to to stay in the media. That is how folks like him and Donald Trump built their names, not necessarily on having anything worthy of saying, just anything they can say that someone will stick a mic in front of.

Al Sharpton is as racist as anyone he's ever criticized. He is a self-serving, publicity-seeking blowhard with a one-track mind. Racial harmony would be the worst thing that could ever happen to him - he'd be out of a job. Notice I will not refer to him as Reverend. No true man of God would act as he does. There are a number of black men and women who speak out on behalf of their race whom I admire greatly. He is not one of them and it's unfortunate that the networks love him and he gets so much airtime. He was one of the prime reasons Imus got the sack rather than the original suspension. Your comparison to Trump hits the nail on the head.

...looks like both Imus and Reverend Superconk need their egoes stroked by the media yet again. Not that they're going to draw any bigger swarm of flies that they did in the Spring. Perhaps they'll do a Superconk/Hargus duet piece? ;-) ...
