Shayna Lance

From a very reliable source...

Shayna Lance resigned. She was not fired. There were no hard feelings over her departure.

Steve Hall was doing mornings because it was Thanksgiving.

Now that the WFLA Newsroom is providing custom newscasts for a bunch of other markets... they are not about to get rid of people.

I am confident that Shayna was not a CC cut, and I am also sure she will land on her feet nicely...

Shayna will do just fine whether she chooses to become a full time Mom or stay in journalism. She has everything it takes to be successful at whatever she chooses.

Damnit! Y'all beat me to posting this! Shayna's got a better network than she lets on.

I spoke to her tonight after I read the initial rumors about her being fired, and she told me the same thing posted here--she chose to leave, she wasn't pushed out.

As I promised her, I'd say she wasn't "frog marched out" (although I am curious about what that exactly entails), she "sauntered out" (she picked that over "sashayed").

She's one of the nicest, most professional folks in this business, and I wish her the best of luck no matter what she decides to do next.

(There Shayna, I said all the nice things I told you I would--with the exception of the compliments about your body  of work--hope that makes you happy!)

If a deal to bring Shayna back to Tampa radio is not done, it is at least imminent. This is an obvious loss for Clear Channel, and it's yet another example of CCU's serious mishandling of a contributive talent.

Aside from her natural passion, extraordinary writing abilities, and the talent to deliver a story that speaks directly to WFLA's target, Shayna is one of the nicest, most normal people working in an industry filled with.. well... you can fill in the blanks.
