Shazam/Soundhound for Radio Streaming?

For a radio station that has several sources of music (perhaps a network, live & local, and even the occasional CD thrown on), how would it be possible for a web stream to identify the artist and title of each song played on the station?

I'm thinking of something like Shazam or Soundhound. Something that could use this type of database to determine what song is on the air (without someone sitting there clicking 24/7 every time a song begins).

Do any streaming companies offer such a service???...or is there a program a station could use to encode that type of information?

I've looked at TuneGenie some, but would it be able to identify the song in a way similar to Shazam or Soundhound?

Our music isn't played on one single hard-drive, so there is no constant source of artist and title for TuneGenie to use...only the audio itself.

I've found TuneGenie to be a more reliable resource for terrestrial radio station playlists than Yes.com as of late.
