She Blinded Me with Science

I can't prove it. All I know is that when I pay my water bill, the woman is usually listening to an oldies station. She used to listen to a "Lite" station but most of those have gone so off-the-wall with their music. Mainly during special programs, but even the regular playlists aren't office-friendly any more.

But this song isn't either. It sure doesn't belong on an oldies station.

Well the song came out in 1983. It would be considered a classic hit. Classic Hit stations are just going with the times. Wait til they start playing MC Hammer.

Well Oh well. Bye 60's.

A lot of stations that some consider classic rock actually play mid to late 50's through early 80s, so they are they classic oldies maybe?

Mike Harvey played "Living on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi on the same station. In fact, so did Tom Kent. I think he does the Saturday night show. I know Casey Kasem is on Sundays.

Go Hammer....Go Hammer...................Go Station.

"Conga" by Miami Sound Machine the last time I paid my water bill.

On the way to the beach, when there was nothing else, "We Built This City" by Starship.

"Dust in the Wind" by Kansas was so nice. Then they had to go and do THAT.

Hits of the early 80's like "Science" are classic hits to us, or oldies to today's teens. No, No MC Hammer just yet....I'd rather hear "Superfreak" 10 times before "U Can't Touch This".

Well, earlier this year, New York's CBS-FM played two Tone Loc songs back to back!

Super Freak's been burnt to a crisp just like all the other mainstream 80's cuts. Much rather hear Hammer's "Have You Seen Her"(Chi-Lites remake) or "Pray" than SBMWS...OR CTT OR Too Legit' To Quit.
ABC's soon to be dumped "Timeless Favorites" plays Matthew Wilder's one hit wonder "Break My Stride". :-\ Not a BAD tune, but if that song's considered a Timeless Favorite then so is Physical, Say, Say, Say or even Chillawack's "My Girl(Gone, Gone, Gone)". Most songs Oldies stations are throwing on from "The 80's" are the ones I (& everyone else who know them all too well) would rather not hear again for years anyway.
The only live person left on our local FM station in the morning will play a song & say, "There's one you probably haven't heard in a while from the 80's". Why is it from "THE" 80's? Why won't he say the year the tune was big instead of coralling these songs into his little "THE 80's" world?
They never say "There's one from Greenday from "THE 90's" or..."There's one from Carrie Underwood from the two-thousands". :(
